The Nerv team are a pleasure to work with, professional, punctual, and calm in every interaction. We engaged them to offer their Resilience Programme. Our team warmed to them and I noticed a real shift in how the office felt and how we interacted with one another immediately. We have a friendly, relaxed office, but our workload is heavy and varied, so keeping a sense of calm matters. Following completion of the programme, Nerv's reporting was clear, helpful, and delivered on time. It was a great experience overall, and one that made a sustained, positive impact on our team and how we communicate with each other.

The situation

A team running a full season with no way to manage the load.

Eden Villas runs a hospitality operation where pressure arrives in waves and does not wait for anyone to be ready for it. At baseline in April, the lowest score across the whole team was the simplest one: having any regular calming practice at all, at 3.6 out of 10. Most of the team had no structured way to manage stress, and the ones who did had built it themselves.

The programme

Month 1
First workshop, then group practice. HRV up 30 to 40 percent across the group during sessions

In April most of the team had no structured way to manage stress. By July every team member reported using a regulation practice, five of nine on four to seven days a fortnight, and nobody at zero.

What we learned

The gains held where the team practised together.

The skills that improved most were the ones the team built in the room, side by side. The skills that depend on daily repetition between sessions moved least, and the team was direct about why: seven of nine said the daily solo practice did not survive a real workload, and five named workload specifically.

In the closing session the team named their own answer. A regular shared session, once a week, at a time already in the calendar.

This is why every Nerv team programme now includes six weeks of live weekly practice.

The finding changed the product.

It's better to practice as a team. Will improve.

About this data

April baseline: paper assessment, all eleven team members. Final assessment: paper forms completed in the room on 22 July by the nine members present, using wording identical to April. Two items left blank on one form are excluded from the affected averages rather than estimated. Heart rate variability was measured during Month 1 group practice sessions. All scores are team-level averages and individual responses are never reported. Scientific oversight by Dr. Mihirini De Zoysa, PhD in Organisational Change.
